JUPEB IN UNILORIN

The University of Ilorin moderates the JUPEB programme in Ilorin based on the general provision of JUPEB.

The JUPEB programme enables students to gain admission into 200level in their university of choice. ‘

IN A SIMPLER TERMS

Students who wish to gain admission into 200level in any university of their choice, without writing JAMB or Post JAMB, have the opportunity of actualizing that dream with the JUPEB programme.

Also, if you want to take your JUPEB programme (Which is usually within 9months) in any state of your choice (in this case Ilorin), and secure admission in any other state, it is possible with the way the programme is structured.

Register at the UNILORIN portal www.uiljupeb.unilorin.edu.ng as soon as the form is out as they are usually tight deadline. Prospective students who purchase the form directly from UNILORIN JUPEB Portal for N25,000. This form purchase is exclusive to the University of Ilorin only and students are to purchase it via the aforementioned website.

However, in any case that candidates are unable to purchase the form with UNILORIN before the form sale elapse, they can purchase the form through some available private JUPEB centres in Ilorin.

There is usually a deadline for the purchase of forms at UNILORIN which is usually before the entrance exam. Those who want to directly purchase the form with the school should be mindful of the deadline. If not, you will have to stick with a private JUPEB centre.

UNILORIN JUPEB ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS 

Students who register directly with UNILORIN will have to sit for an entrance exam after purchasing the form. This is the same exercise in other universities like OAU, UNILAG, UNN etc.

However, the entrance examination is a pretext screening programme conducted by universities to screen candidates before admission.

Nevertheless, for students who want to enrol with UNILORIN at all costs, the entrance exam is not difficult.

UNILORIN JUPEB CUT OFF MARKS FOR ALL COURSES

For students who want to gain admission through JUPEB into UNILORIN or any other institution of their choice, they have to be prepared to pass a certain cut off mark stated by JUPEB for entry into that course.

These cut off marks vary from course to course. Below is the cut off marks for these courses:

CUT OFF MARK- MEDICINE (12points and above)

The UNILORIN JUPEB cut off mark for medicine is 12 points and above, due to the competitive nature of medicine and medical-related courses,

Regardless of where you take your JUPEB programme, be it Lagos, Port Harcourt or a private centre, if you want to cross to UNILORIN for medicine, your JUPEB point must be at least 12 points.

CUT OFF MARK- OTHER SCIENCES AND PARAMEDICAL COURSES (7points and above)

For students who are interested in other science courses and paramedical courses, the least point you must have in the JUPEB exam must be 7.

CUT OFF MARK-LAW (13ponts and above)

With the competitiveness of Law in Nigeria and the prestige that comes with the course, students have to work very hard to get 13point and above in their JUPEB programme. This is the standard maintained by UNILORIN when it comes to LAW as a professional course. UNILORIN does not take anything less.

CUT OFF MARK- ENGINEERING COURSES (8points and above)

For students who wish to gain admission into UNILORIN engineering and related departments, they have to get an 8point and above in their JUPEB final exam.

CUT OFF MARK- Social Sciences Courses (6points and above)

Students who wish to take courses within the sphere of the social sciences in UNILORIN have to get at least 6points in their exams.

CUT OFF MARK -Art Courses (5points and above)

If you are aspiring to gain admission into the faculty of Arts in UNILORIN to take language courses etc., you should prepare to get at least 5 points in the exam.

CUT OFF MARK -Administrative Courses (5point and above)

For students who wish to gain admission into an administrative course like Business administration and the likes, the minimum point they should aim to get in the exam is 5points.

 

In addition, note that hese are just probable cut off marks that are based on what the previous cut off marks of the university in the past. They might be higher or lesser than this in this year’s JUPEB admission session.

 

UNILORIN JUPEB SCHOOL FEES 

According to the UNILORIN official website, the breakdown for the JUPEB school fee goes as follows:

Tuition fees: N200,000.

School Charges: N5,000

Health: N5,000.

Library: N5,000.

Laboratory Practical: N10,000 (for science subject combinations only).

Bank drafts for N5,000 and N6,000 made payable to UNILORIN JUPEB as non-refundable caution fees and as Administrative Charges must be submitted by all candidates.

From the above details, then the total fee for UNILORIN JUPEB is between N230,000 and N260,000.

NOTE: The total amount is also without accommodation. UNILORIN JUPEB is non-residential.
